Craft class: what your child actually learns

Daily26 Jul 20262 min readBy Dipika Konwar

Craft is often treated as the "light" subject. In practice it is one of the most complete learning activities a child can do.

Planning before doing

Every craft item needs a sequence — measure, cut, fold, join. Children learn to think a few steps ahead.

Fine motor skills

Safe scissor handling, neat folding and precise gluing all strengthen the small muscles used for writing.

Problem solving

When a piece does not fit, the child has to work out why. That is engineering thinking in miniature.

Pride in a finished object

Unlike a worksheet, a craft item can be carried home and shown to the family. That pride is powerful motivation.

Our Craft Class covers paper craft, DIY projects and handmade decorations. Clay Art is taught as a separate module.
